The Drigg Charity

The Drigg Charity is a registered charity and it has 11 trustees - 8 serving Drigg & Carleton Parish Councillors and 3 independent persons from the community.

The Drigg Charity administers several funds on behalf of the community;

The Drigg & Carleton Fund receives £50k per annum from the Copeland Community Fund as part of the planning agreement for Vault 9 at LLWR.

There is a bursary fund for parishioners to apply for skills training and further education. The bursary fund is supported in partnership with LLWR. There is a Drigg Charity sub-group who assess the bursary applications, and they make recommendations to the main Charity committee for approval. The sub-group group is made up of 2 councillors, 2 independents and a representative from LLWR.

For information on how to apply to these funds, please contact the Charity Secretary - Mr D Millington (tel. 24272).
