Many thanks to Colin Harris for the above donation
Does any one have any information about or other photos of the old Wray Head?
It was situated on the site of the present BNFL LLW site in Drigg.
Also does any one have any information/photos about the huts that used to be
in fields leading to the beach, to the left of the road?
Poor Daniel Kitchen was a tailor who lived in Drigg. On his way back home from Egremont Market he was frozen to death and found in a field called Far Croft. His inquest was held at the Quarter Sessions at Christmas 1759. A Mr. Robert Baynes was the coroner. Does anyone know where Daniel Kitchen lived or where the field called Far Croft was? Also, there was once a house called Adam Butts situated up the lane at Hill Green. I'd be delighted to know the origin of the name.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Pam Clatworthy.
It would be interesting to record as much information as possible about old Drigg and Carleton before we oldies 'pop off'.

Can anybody help? I am interested in information on Holmrook Hall and its part in World War Two. It was used by the Royal Navy as a Special bomb training centre. There is little on the internet except for Lakestay's page on Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll's family owned Holmrook Hall. The Royal Navy called Holmrook Hall HMS Volcano. I am helping a friend with his web site on Cumbria and the Second World War. Any pictures and info would be very welcome.
