2010 Drigg & Carleton Gala Day

The day's events will follow the usual format;
1:30pm at the parish hall; fancy dress competition judging by the Mayor of Copeland, dancing display followed by the parade to the Gala field (behind the Victoria Hotel, next to Drigg railway station).
2pm Gala field activities and attractions start, including; Jason the Juggler, children's races, Cleator Moor Brass, bouncey castle, big inflatable slide, stalls, fire service display, dancing display and refreshments served in the marquee. The Victoria Hotel will be open throughout the day for food and drinks.

2009 Halloween Family Party

Saturday 31st October, 6:00 to 9:00pm at Drigg & Carleton Parish Hall. Party games, disco and hot food all included in the ticket
Tickets : Adult/£5, Child/£3, Pre-school/free

    The plan launch will be at the Annual Parish Meeting, everyone is welcome to attend at 7pm on 15th April 2008 at the Parish Hall. Copies of the published plan will be available to take away. Parish Councillors will be available to answer questions.

    Parish plan

    There was an excellent response to the Parish Plan Questionnaires, with the majority of house holds responding. The mountain of raw data has been collated into some sort of order with many hours hard work by Dave Millington, the new council clerk. There will be an open evening where the Parish Council will welcome all parishioners to a presentation of work so far.

    60's 70's 80's Boogie Night

    Saturday 1st April
    Drigg & Carleton Parish hall
    Licenced bar, buffet and entertainment organised by the Gala Committee
    This was a well attended event, with over 70 tickets sold.

    The family halloween party in the parish hall was well attended and enjoyed by young and old.

    Holmrook speedlimit reduction

    After campaigning for a long time, Drigg & Carleton Parish Council and the residents of Holmrook are pleased to see the introduction of a reduced speed limit of 40mph through Holmrook on the A595.

    Holmrook exchange broadband

    Broadband is now available in the parish.
